It all starts in understanding what advertising activation actually performs - Our proprietary marketing science tool COmpass gives clients that very insight. We can then provide the best strategy and execution across all digital channels including paid media, influencer CRM & CRO.
An emerging, independently owned company, we boast a team of seasoned founders, industry leaders and highly talented digital marketers with experience working across Apple, Meta, Disney, L’Oreal and more. At Charlie Oscar we are pioneers and innovators, striving to redefine digital marketing standards with our cutting-edge tools and services.
We are a growing team of curious, ambitious and personable individuals who are all passionate about digital marketing, brand growth and the entrepreneurial community. We promote a work-life balance and prioritise team well-being. We work hard but also make time to bond as a team, have some fun and socialise. We do quarterly social events and an annual company trip to recharge and spend quality time together. The team work together in our London Bridge office, and from home.
We are currently a business of 20 people with growth plans to be 40 people by the end of the year.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a New Business Director to join our rapidly expanding team, working closely with our founders to put Charlie Oscar on the map.
Charlie Oscar was founded in 2021 and in the past 12 months, we have experienced high and consistent growth, almost exclusively from word of mouth and recommendation. The business has ambitious plans and building broader awareness and engaging proactively with our target customer is a strategic priority.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in B2B marketing and be able to create effective sales and marketing plans that deliver results. We are looking for someone who is commercial and will connect marketing efforts to sales. The successful candidate would likely have experience working in high-growth marketing services businesses such as another digital marketing agency, ad tech, influencer marketing or a fast-growth platform.
Strategic Planning and Execution
Develop and execute the company's business development and marketing strategy, including market segmentation, route to market, pricing, and marketing campaign management.
Commercial Operations Oversight
Oversee commercial operations to meet growth targets, focusing on both growing existing accounts and winning new business opportunities. Establish and maintain commercial excellence by centralizing pricing, contracts, and sales training.
Product Development and Optimisation
Lead the development, iteration, and alignment of the company's product offerings with market demands, ensuring precise product-market fit.
Project Leadership
Act as the project lead for major agency pitches, whilst efficiently coordinating procurement processes to secure valuable partnerships. Ensure the necessary resources are in place to deliver effectively.
Stakeholder Relationships
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and external partners to foster collaboration, trust, and commercial delivery excellence.
Marketing and Content Strategy
Drive both top-of-funnel (TOFU) and bottom-of-funnel (BOFU) marketing activities, supported by the implementation of a new CRM system. Manage the marketing budget, ensuring ROI targets are achieved, while also leading the creation of compelling content that showcases the company's work and resonates with the target audience.
Here’s what we’re looking for
Strong B2B Sales and Marketing experience, specifically within a marketing agency or closely related sector
Strong knowledge of sales and marketing strategies, with prior involvement in big business pitches
Proven success in scaling a business by 7+ figures through strategic planning and carefully planned execution
A commercial mindset and ability to implement processes and tools that drive revenue growth
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, accustomed to building relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Experienced in leading and managing a team effectively, with a focus on delivering results
Experienced at events management, including planning and execution
Strong organisational and project management skills
An understanding of the digital and social media landscape, with a passion for the industry
